May Professional Development Meeting

Logistics and Inventory Management:
A Panel Discussion

Our May Professional Development Meeting (PDM) is a departure from our typical format.  We have invited managers from Hamilton Beach Products, Philip Morris USA, and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals to share their perspectives with us on the subject of Logistics and Inventory Management in their companies.  We’ve prepared some questions for them that will be delivered by a Moderator, and you will also have an opportunity to ask them questions.

Our Panelists for the May Meeting are:

  1. Mr. Mac Bronson, Vice President of Global Logistics, Hamilton Beach Products

    Mac received his B.S. in Business from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  He has 20 years of experience in the LTL trucking industry, holding various senior level Sales and Operations positions with a variety of long haul and regional carriers.

    Mac joined Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. in 1999 and is currently V.P. of Global logistics.  He is responsible all distribution and transportation functions for the U.S., Latin America, and Europe.

    Mac lives here in Richmond with his wife and 3 children.
  2. Mr. Jeffrey Covino, Manager, Inventory Forecasting, Customer Service & Merchandising, Philip Morris USA

    Jeff received a B.S. in Chemistry from Georgia Tech and an M.B.A. from Florida Atlantic University where he was the founding Vice President of the student APICS chapter.  As a scientist and supply chain innovator, his thinking style has been greatly influenced by Einstein and Goldratt.

    Jeff has over 20 years of experience solving supply chain problems.  He has worked in many diverse roles including: Returns Center Manager, Master Scheduler, Inventory Control Manager, Distribution Manager, Project Manager, and Forecasting Manager.

    Jeff joined PM USA in 1995 and is currently responsible for enabling finished goods distribution.
  3. Mr. Larry Patterson, Senior Director, Materials Management, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals

    Larry Patterson Has 34 years in the experience in the Materials Management field and has held various positions within the Electric utility and within the Pharmaceutical industry.

    Larry joined Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in 1991 and is currently the Senior Director, Materials Management & Strategic Sourcing.  He has a B.S. degree in business.  He is responsible for the Materials Management and Strategic Sourcing for the Richmond Site, which includes Receiving, Warehousing, Shipping, Procurement, Material Scheduling, Document Control, Business Support of the SAP/R3, and MES (Manufacturing Execution system).

Our Moderator for the evening is Mr. David Credicott of ACUMEN Corporation.  Dave has been a consultant in the ERP and Supply Chain area for over 15 years.  As Vice President of the Enterprise Solutions Group for ACUMEN Corporation, he is responsible for their manufacturing client ERP/SCM implementations.  He has served on the APICS Richmond Chapter Board of Directors as VP of Marketing for the past 3 years, taught many of the CPIM workshops in our chapter, and holds a CFPIM certification from APICS.

When you arrive for the meeting:  Enter through the second West Guard Gate on Forest Avenue.  Check in with the Security Guard (you will need to show a driver's license/picture ID), and park in the Visitor's Lot.  PMUSA employees, show your badge.  The Auditorium is opposite the main entrance to the Headquarters Building.

Cost:

$15 per person, for members, guests and visitors.  You may pay in one of three ways:
