Membership Corner

March, 2008

Welcome to New Members

I'd like to welcome our new members; it's great to have you in the Richmond Chapter!  We look forward to welcoming our new members in March at our next PDM.

  1. Phillip Ronca, Hill Phoenix
  2. Jiawel Guo
  3. Glen Jones, MeadWestvaco
  4. Chris Shaffer, Turnkey Promotions

One of our Chapter's primary goals is to "provide opportunities to the membership and local businesses to enhance relationship and communications."  Retaining and expanding our membership is paramount to that goal.  No one can promote our Chapter as you can --- we need and appreciate your help!

One of the best ways to promote our Chapter is through word of mouth.  We encourage all of our members to invite a friend or associate to one of our meetings - we welcome visitors.  Speak to your company about our organization and becoming a Corporate Member.  If you think your company would like to host a plant tour for our group, please let us know.

Certifications

Congratulations to folks for their recent CPIM certifications:

  1. Ming Waters
  2. Williams Wiggins
  3. Charles Fisher

Congratulations to folks for their recent CSCP certifications:

  1. Wojceich Blaziak
  2. Oscar Stem

Have you recently received your CPIM, CSCP or CRIM certification?  If so, please send me a note.  We would love to recognize your accomplishment.

Individual Membership

Individual membership is open to professionals who wish to develop their operations management skills and would like to retain their own membership.  It provides access to top-notch professional development opportunities, product and service discounts, and award-winning publications.

Corporate Membership

A company may elect to become an APICS Corporate member.  By becoming a Corporate member, the company as a whole benefits from membership.  When selecting this option, a company designates five employee representatives to receive full membership privileges and to receive regular information from APICS.  In addition, all employees from the same corporate location receive member discounts on courses, publications, and other educational resources.  Company memberships belong to the company, all membership correspondence is sent to the central address, and the five representative memberships can be transferred to other employees whenever there are changes in personnel.

Joining APICS Richmond

Individual and Corporate memberships are obtained via the APICS International website at www.apics.org.  Please let them know that you wish to join the Richmond chapter.
